Despite the very unimaginative title, "Thalia" is Thalia's best album yet. Unlike the previous releases "Arrasando" and "Amor A La Méxicana", she hasn't crammed it full of boring ballads and tired sounding dance tracks, but has carefully recorded some of the best songs I've ever heard. Before I mention the individual songs, it should be noted that the development of Thalia's vocals and the production of this album have improved greatly since the 2000 release, so this automatically enhances the album greatly.TÚ Y YO, 5/10: Considering how good the rest of the songs are, it's such a shame "Tu y yo" was chosen as the first track. It's not awful but it lacks any real flavour or emotion.ASÍ ES EL DESTINO, 9/10: A really catchy and memorable mid-tempo track.EN LA FIESTA MANDO YO, 9/10: Very fast, almost crazy track which'll definitely make you want to dance!NO ME ENSEÑASTE, 10/10: An incredible ballad which explodes at the end.Y SEGUIR, 7/10: Not as good as the previous 3 but still entertaining. Again, a mid-tempo track with a catchy chorus.¿A QUIÉN LE IMPORTA?, 9/10: A great dance track which would've got ten had it not been a cover!VUELTAS EN EL AIRE, 8/10: An upbeat dance song with a great "Estefano" feel to it. Chorus is also very infectious.HERIDAS EN EL ALMA, 8/10: A laid back beat with a haunting melody.LA LOCA,6/10: A definite get on your feet and dance song but the vocals really annoy me in the chorus (and what's with the "Only your lips I want to kiss"??)TÚ Y YO Remix, 8/10: A much needed remix which gives the song a bit more melody.THE MEXICAN 2002, 9/10: Excellent track accompanied by a great guitar riff.THE MEXICAN (English), 7/10: The same track as above, just in English.CLOSER TO YOU, 8/10: Nice ballad in English.YOU SPIN ME ROUND, 9/10: Despite sounding a bit like a chipmunk, this cover is a great end track that manages to transform the original into something much more fun.So, I'd say "Thalia" is worth buying if you like Latin music or you like modern day divas. You may also like to try Thalia's new album (although it isn't nearly as good as this one!)

Review by Juan G : 'Thalia' falls short on expectations

First of all, let me say that I am a fan of Thalia work. This includes her soap operas as well as her music. In my opinion, her best musical work is still "Arrasando." While I expected 'Thalia' to be as innovative as 'Paulina,' this was not the case. The first single 'Tu Y Yo' is somewhat of a remake of her earlier hit 'Pacto Entre Los Dos.' Like the rest of the album, the songs sound outdated. I will give props for the inclusion of the 'Tu Y Yo' Kumbia King remix. The remix is incredible and sure to be a dancefloor favorite. The same can be said for her remake of Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round." I am sure this has to do with DJ/Remixer/Producer superstar Hex Hector helming the production of this song. If the EMI marketing group knows what they are doing, they will promote this song to the US market. I understand that Hex has remixed "En La Fiesta Mando Yo." I am really looking forward to hearing that mix. To those thinking of buying it, buy it because it is Thalia. However, just becuase she worked with the same people that produced "Paulina," do not expect it to be anything as musically diverse or innovative as "Paulina." Thalia, I love you and I am looking forward to hearing the english cd. One advice--continue working with HEX........

Thalia 2002 spanish album is one of the best LP's I've got!! You can find here pop, r'n'b, dance, electro, and rock!!! Ballads, and DANCE tracks!!! In my opinion it deserve 5/51. Tu Y Yo 1st single, it was #1 in the USA HOT LATIN tracks 5/52. Asi Es El Destino my 3rd favorite track:) 5/53. En La Fiesta Mando Yo Very fast dance song 4,5/54. No Me Ensenaste THE MOST BEUTIFUL TRACK #1 in the USA HOT LATIN tracks 5/55. Y Seguir My second favorite track on this album 5/56. A Quien Le Importa? 3rd single, very dance 7. Vueltas En El Aire In the begining it Sound like hmm... Era's Ameno:D:D 5/5 8. Heridas En El Alma a little r'n'b :) 5/5 9. La Loca very latin 5/5 10. WELL, Thalia fans from different walks in life can avail this latest Thalia's album "Thalia 2002." You have heard her in her many albums including the Arrasando (Overwheling by Force).As usual, this album, unveils enchanting chanteuse Thalia in a mix groovy dance tunes, Cuban pop and occasional ballads. This catches Thalia's "madness" and also features songs full of life's sweet mysteries-love, romance, nostalgia and good feelings. The diva's unmistakable singing style-seduction made song-can be felt when she embark on pop, dance, ballad and even rap numbers- some of them written by her. Tu Y Yu is the best, then Closer To You, which is a very nice song.In this album, you can sense her originality.

The new Thalia's album is full of surprises. Thalia come back with cool covers (Alaska y Dinarama in "¿A Quien Le Importa?", y Dead Or Alive in "Spin Me Round"), or else, she really came back to 80's with this album. The production got with the hitmaker Estéfano who wrote the most song of the album and co-produced with Julio Reyes. The american Cory Rooney who already worked with J.Lo and Marc Anthony helped Thalia in English songs. Steve Morales who worked with Christina Aguilera in her debut latin album "Mi Reflejo" produced the gorgeous song "Closer to you" that Thalia has presented in Rosie O'Donnel Show recently.Thalia shows all her power in ths album, there's no many latin tracks, the album has more ballads with guitars sounds, is pretty cool!!!!! The best songs of the CD are: "Asi es el destino", "Y Seguir", "Closer to me", "No me ensenaste", "Heridas en el alma", y "En la fiesta mando yo", this last is much danceable. Buy this album now, it's incredible!!!!
